how does friction helps us in walking?

try walking on ice and you'll soon get the picture

when you walk you push the ground backward . your force is given on a large mass so the ground acceleration is negligible . now according newton third law of motion there is a reaction force which acts on less mass so you accelerate in other way you move . no if there was no friction and when you push the ground backward you would slip . friction force gives you the grip to move forward

u wont be able to walk without friction........friction provides a stopping force for your body's momentum.......whenever we walk we do work against this frictional force . if there were no friction u wud not be able to stop..

while walking the irregularities in our feet and in the floor will interlock and provide us a firm grip

There is some opposing force that acts on our shoes or legs when we walk on a surface. It is popularly known as friction. When you walk on a plane and smooth surface, the friction is less and we slip. It is because there is no opposing force which gives us grip. That opposing force helps us from not falling and it is not so powerful that we can't take our legs off the ground. This way friction helps us in walking.

friction helps us to get a better grip on the ground due to which we r able to stand and walk properly.

When we walk,we push the ground in backward direction. Our foot will get equal and opposite reaction from the ground only,if the foot does not slip i.e. there is adequate friction between the foot and the ground. The forward horizontal component of the reaction helps us to move forward direction.

friction help to get better grip on the ground that why we are able to stand and walk on the ground

In order to take a step forward during walking, we lift one foot push the backwards with the other foot. If there were no friction between the soles of our shoes and ground would ship backwards. Since we push the ground backwards the force of friction acts in opposite direction, forward direction, and prevents our foot from slipping
