Solution : Genes are the segments of DNA that carry genetic information. This is processed by the cellular machinery, including the Ribosomes, that make the proteins accordingly. Hence, the inherited traits are expressed in the form of proteins. If we take most of our life processes, they are dependent on enzymes which are majorly proteinaceous in nature. The amount and the efficiency of these enzymes can control the rate of expression. The inherited traits influence the amount and efficiency of this protein formed.
An example for the above statement is that growth hormones is synthesised due to action of enzymes. Any change in the gene will alter the functioning and amount of that enzyme formed, that eventually affects the growth of the plant.
