How does rag picking mean different to children and elders?

For children rag picking is a means of fun as garbage to them is wrapped in wonders, they sometimes find coins or 10 rupees note in that garbage making them feel like treasure hunters who found their gold whereas this same rag picking is just a means of survival for elders and nothing more than that.
