If the sulphide ore of cu contains FeO, then it is mixed with SiO2 before heating.iron oxide "slags of " as iron silicate and cu is produced in the form of cu matte which contains cu2S and FeS. FeO + SiO2 ----------------------> FeSiO3 (slag)
