How does this reaction form a ketone.?? Addition of Sulphuric acid forms onlyy Aldehyde.

1. The addition of H+ follows Maronikoff's addition reaction in which hydrogen is added to carbon that has more number of hydrogen.

2. Thus, the nucleophile here, hydrogen sulphate ions attacks of C-2 and after hydrolysis forms Acetone.

3. This is not necessary that it should always give aldehyde, as the prefrential attack is favoured on C-2.
