how does transportation of materials take place in sponges and hydra ????

Sponges and hydra live in water and do not have blood or any circulatory system. Water acts a carrier of food and oxygen to their body and it also carries out waste material and carbon dioxide from the body.

In simple multicellular organisms like Hydra, the transportation of material from cell to cell takes place through simple diffusion.
Sponges have water transport system or canal system that helps in transportation of materials. The water enters the body cavity through tiny pores on body called ostia and goes out from the pores called osculum.
