how does wind help in transpiration.experts please answer fast having an exam tomorrow

Dear student,

Increase in the wind velocity increases the rate of transpiration.
This is because the wind vaporises the water droplets over the stomata. It results in the decrease in the water concentration over the stomata and increases the pressure gradient, so the water from inside of a plant transpired out of the leaves.

Regards.

Wind can alter rates of transpiration by removing the boundary layer, that still layer of water vapor hugging the surface of leaves. Wind increases the movement of water from the leaf surface when it reduces the boundary layer, because the path for water to reach the atmosphere is shorter.

HOPE THIS HELPS
ALL THE BEST :)
