How has r-technology has helped in large scale production of vaccine?

Dear Student,

Recombinant vector vaccines make use of recombinant DNA technology. These vaccines make use of an attenuated virus or bacterium to introduce microbial DNA to cells of the body. “Vector” such as bacterium and virus are used for carrying the DNA to the host cells. The roomy genomes of harmless or attenuated viruses are taken out and replaced by portions of the genetic material of interest. The vaccines so developed mimic a natural infection and stimulates the immune system thereafter.
