How is a microscope different from the magnifying lens?

Dear student,
Both the magnifying lens and the microscope helps to enlarge the image of the object but the main difference is the quality of the image formed by the microscope is more clear and magnified properly than the magnifying lens. The improper distance of the object with the magnifying lens can cause the object to appear smaller. Sometimes, the image can also be overmagnified which may appear as blurry and out of the focus. The two types of the lens in the microscopes like the compound microscope which consists of one objective lens and other as eyepiece reduce or eliminate the issue created by the biconvex lens of the magnifying glass.
