How is holozoic nutrition in an amoeba different from that in paramaecium

Solution

Both Amoeba and Paramecium exhibit holozoic nutrition.
The difference between them is as follows -
Amoeba has several finger like projections called pseudopodia with the help of which they engulf food particles and take inside the food vacuole of the cell. The food vacuoles contain digestive enzymes that digest the food.

In Paramoecium numerous thread like cilia are present which sweep the food along with water into the cell. The food enters inside the gullet which is like a stomach. The food travels to the back end of the cell body where cytoplasm secretes digestive enzymes that help in digestion.
