how is hybridization useful in agriculture?

The act of mixing different species of crops or plants to produce improvised versions called hybrids is called hybridization. 

Hybridization is useful in agriculture because :

a) Hybrids give better produce than local varieties. 

b) They can be disease resistant and more sturdy hence, they give a better yield of crops.
