how is stem different from stem tuber

Tuber is a modification of underground stem. It is an oval underground structure swollen structure which does not bear adventitious roots. Each tuber possesses number of spirally arranged depressions called eyes. Tuber stores food. 
A true stem bears a terminal bud for its growth. The stem is differentiated into nodes and internodes. Leaves and branches develop on stem.
