how is sunflower not a single flower but a group of flowers?why?

Sunflower is not a single flower , instead it is made up of a composite bouquet of hundreds of flowers. Each of these individual flower is present on the head of the sunflower. These flowers are mainly of two kinds. Each of them can produce seeds.
