how is the process of winnowing done?

 suppose.if you have to seperate rice and husk,you will use the process of winnowing.

you can stand on a stool,with the mixture of rice and husk with you.

keep on moving the mixture till the husk flies and the rice is collected on a plastic mat.

thus,rice and husk are seperated by winnowing.

winnowing is that process by which we can seperate any heavy material from a lighter one with the help of wind.

winnouring is used to separate havier and lighter  components of a mixture by wind or by blouring air

The farmer stands at a higher level and lets the mixture fall to the ground. The grain, being heavier, falls almost vertically whereas the lighter chaff is carried away by the wind and forms a separate heap away from the grain. The direction of the wind plays an important role in the process of winnowing.
