How long do the seeds remain alive after they are dispersed?

seeds cant live for a long time. The viability of seeds depends on their storage.Some seeds live 1-2 days after their dispersal while others can last many years..
most vegetable seeds can live upto 2 years . eg: sweet corn , spinach. some live less than a year eg: onion.
some live upto 5 years.eg: muskmelon and lettuce.
