Let R is equivalent resistance of some numbers of resistance made from 176 ohm ,
the cicuit connected in series with the battery of emf 220V and current flowing through it is 5A
hence ,
R from 5 Ampere current on 220 Volt =
R = V/I= 220 /5
= 44ohm
Now, number of resistance = 176
44
= 4 resistors
