Here is the answer:

Semi vowels are of two types - glides and liquids. A, e, i,o, u are vowels. 

The letters y, w, r and l are consonants. "Y" as in the word "yet" and "w" as in the word "wet" are considered as semi vowels. These semi-vowels are known as glides. 

The other consonants "r" as in the word "car" and "l" as in the word "pool" are semivowels, which are known as liquids.
