how many true bones in rib cage?
All the bones in rib cage of humans are true bones only. Humans have twelve pair of ribs. Out of the twelve pairs of ribs in the human body, the last two pairs are called floating ribs or false ribs. Ribs are attached to the vertebral column dorsally and to the sternum ventrally forming a cage like structure. But in the case of last two ribs the ribs are attached to the vertebral column but not to the sternum in the front, hence they are called false ribs.
