How small pox has been completely eradicated from India?

Small pox is an infectious disease caused by virus. The India along with WHO led the collaborative global vaccination programme that helped in the eradication of small pox in India. The last case was reported in May 1975 and in April 1977, it was confirmed that India is free from small pox.
