HOW THE DISCHARGE LAMP WORKS

A gas tube is filled with a suitable gas at low pressure.electrodes are fixed at the both ends of the tube.high voltage applied on the electrode make gas ionised.as a result of collision of ions and electrons with unionised particles, light is produced.
