How the one-child norm led to the sustained rise in GDP?

Sadik, one-child norm was adopted in China as one of the measures of economic development. It was aimed to control the alarming population growth rate in China. The important implication of the norm in China is the low population growth. This measure also led to the fall in the sex ratio in China, i.e. the proportion of females per thousand males. However, the country believes that in the coming decades there will be more elderly people in proportion to the young people. This will oblige the country to provide social security measures with fewer workers. As of result of the improved demographic indicators, there was a rise in the economic welfare of the people, higher per capita income and superior quality of human capital. All these factors have a long-term benefits to Chinese economy. To sum up, we can accord one-child norm to be one of the factors that are responsible for present day well-developed China.
