how the some member became the permanent members?
and why India is not a permanent member of the security council of United Nations ?
Dear student,
Kindly find the answer to your query as given below.
As you know United Nations was formed in the aftermath of World War II. In the Security Council some countries were given permanent seats with special privilege of "Veto Power". They were USA, UK, Russia, France and China. It was so because these nations were the Allied powers which helped in ending the war against the Fascist and Nazi regime.
So it was a privilege or reward for what they did during the world war. India has still not got the permanent seat because no country wants to share its special privileges and powers. Though India is putting across its case to the world nations for the same but only time will tell the future.
Hope this will clear your doubts about the topic and if you have more doubts please get back on our forum.
