how to draw parallel line in method I

 

1) Draw the angle. Name it as <CMB

2) take the compass, with any convenient radius draw an arc with M as center.

3) place the compass on the point from where you want to draw a parallel line (let the point be P) . And with the same radius as in step 3 draw an arc from P.

4) now place the compass on the point where arc meets line AB, and measure the arc.

5) Now, with the same radius, place the compass on the point where the second arc meets line AP and draw an arc cutting the arc. Name the point as O.

6) join PO and extend the line.  Now we see that PO is parallel to AB.
