How to easily learn the uses of shift and critical angle.
Plz tell me it in efficent way

Dear student,
The critical angle is the angle of incidence for which the angle of refraction is 900 .
When a light ray incident from a denser medium to a rarer medium, the ray deviates from the normal. Any ray with an incident angle greater than the critical angle will be completely reflected back to the denser medium. This phenomenon is known as total internal reflection.

Applications of total internal reflection, critical angle and shift
  • Optical fibers which are used in endoscopes and telecommunications.
  • Automotive rain sensors which control automatic windscreen/windshield wipers.
  • Prisms in binoculars.
  • Spatial filtering of light.
  • Gonioscopy to view anatomical angle between cornea and iris.
  • LED light panels.
  • Working of total internal reflection fluorescence microscope
  • Shining of diamonds

Regards.
