How to improve the nitrogent content of the soil to be used for cultivation of non leguminous terrestrial crop.

1.) Two microbes that can enrich soil with nitrogen

2.) Why do leguminous plants do not require such enrichement of soil

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

Nitrogenous fertilizers can be used to improve nitrogen content of the soil to be used for cultivation of non-leguminous crops.

1. Microbes that can enrich the soil with nitrogen are- bacteria such as Rhizobium, Cyanobacteria, Clostridium etc. They cause nitrogen fixation and hence, add nitrogen to the soil.

2.
Leguminous plants do not need such enrichment because they can fix the atmospheric nitrogen. Rhizobium is a bacteria that lives in the roots of these plants. It converts the nitrogen into the form that can be absorbed by the plant.
