Sunday, June 28, 2015. 9 p.m. Dear Diary, Today I read an article in the newspaper on cruelty towards stray and abandoned animals. I was appalled to see how these harmless animals are picked on, stoned, maltreated and beaten up, out of pure sadistic pleasure. There are a few stray cats and dogs in my colony and I realized that the same fate might have befallen them as well. So, I immediately went out and made shelters for them, one for the cats and the other for the dogs. The colony children have pooled in money for their food and we have decided to adopt them. As I write in my diary tonight, I feel good that I acted upon my feelings rather than just passively accepting it as a news story. |
