How unemployment is directly proportional to poverty

There exists a direct and positive relationship between unemployment and poverty.An unemployed person does not have enough money to feed himself and his family. He cannot provide basic amenities to himself and his family and in this way he fells in debt trap. As a result an unemployed person falls in poverty.
Hence both are directly proportional.
