How was education imparted by traditional indian education system at elementary high level?

The Traditional education system in India was based on the following:

a. The education was based on traditional knowledge and religious training.

b. Education was imparted by sages, scholars that is the Brahmin community who were learned section of the society.

c. The Gurukul system prevailed.

d.  Later Pathshalas came to be existed , comprising of 20 students.

e. The system of education was flexible.

f. There were no fixed rules, no time table, no examinations,no roll calls etc.

g.  Tecahing was oral, and guru taught as per the needs of the students.

h. There was no fixed fees.

i.Generally classes used to take place at the village shop, or temple or guru's home.
