How was Gandhiji able to influence the lawyers at Champaran?

Dear student 
Gandhi was able to influence the lawyers through his convection and pertinent questioning. Gandhi reproached the lawyers of Muzzafarpur for charging a large sum of money as fees. Later the lawyers from Bihar opined that they would return to their own places in the event of Gandhi's imprisonment. However Gandhi made them realise that it would be impudent for them when Gandhi being a stranger was ready to go to jail for peasants. 

Thus Gandhi influenced the lawyers
