The first electric cell is electrochemical cell.

It consist of two electrode one consist of zinc and copper. 

Electrochemical cell that derives electrical energy from chemical energy produced due to chemical reaction taking place within the cell. In this cell, no electricity is provided from outside. In this cell, chemical energy is converted into electrical energy.
