neelakanth died because of the sorrow which came between his and radhas happy and good lfe . it is kubja . she didnt allow anyone to come near him even radha whom he liked soo much . so or bcoz of this he died

Neelkanth died because he was upset with Kubja's behavior

First- She didn't let anyone come near Neelkanth
Second- She broke Radha's Eggs which were quite precious to Radha and Neelkanth

But the narrator Mahadevi Varma has mentioned in the story that she doesn't exactly know why Neelkanth died..
