How will.the compunds, mgcl2 and caO be formed their elements

Dear student
Magnesium forms a positive ion (cation) with a 2+ charge and chlorine forms a negative ion (anion) with a 1- charge. So two chlorine anions form an ionic bond with one magnesium cation for form MgCl2, a neutral chemical compound.

Similarly, Calcium form a positive ion (cation) with a 2+ charge and oxygen forms a negative ion (anion) with a 2- charge. So here Calcium donates 2 electron to oxygen and forms an ionic bond and forms CaO.

Hope it helps
