But Mrs. Otis on the other hand offered the ghost medicine, telling him that he sounded unwell​ and that a bottle of Doctor Dobell's tincture would be good for him. She further advised that if it was indigestion, it would be an excellent remedy. This shows that Mrs. Otis is either extremely brave, or extremely foolish in handling a grave matter with such levity.
