https://youtu.be/jAhjPd4uNFY it is said that CRISPR nd be used for getting HIV free cells but it is said that AIDS is not curable!!! Confused try to xplain it!!!

Dear student.

CRISPR or Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats, is a newly discovered genome-editing technique, using the process one can successfully knockouts a particular sequence of a gene. HIV needs to get integrated to human CD4+ T-cells, so as to invade the human immune system. Research is going on the same field so that integration of HIV cannot take place. So it was mentioned in the statement that using CRISPR, one can produce HIV free cell.

The statement "AIDS is not curable" was given in the context that all the drugs available presently cannot cure AIDS permanently.

Regards.
