Let digit at tens place = x

and digit at unit place = 2x

therefore,

original number = 10(x) + 2x = 12x

Now, when digits are interchanged, then 

the number = 10(2x) + x = 21x

therefore,

acc. to the question,

⇒21x - 12x = 18

⇒9x = 18

⇒x = 2

Hence, Original number = 10(2) + 2(2) = 20+4=24
