I can't understand this

Dear student, The complement angle pair are those whose sum is 90 degrees e.g, 60degree and 30 degree are complementary angle. Hence in this solution what we are doing is just subtracting 90 degree with the given angle so that we can generate the complement angle of given part. Hope this helps. Regards
