I do not understand this child,Though we have lived together now

In the same house for years. I know, Nothing of him, so try to build

Up a relationship from how, He was when small.

Why doesn’t the father know anything of his son? Or – Give reasons for the failure of the father son relationship.

What sort of a relation is the father trying to build with his son? What will be drawback of this relation?

Where did the father fail? How could have he escaped the failure?

1. It is because of the generation gap that the father does not know anything about his son. Lack of understanding is the reason for the failure of their relationship.

2. The father wishes his son to return to him in his own surroundings rather than see him move out to make his own different world. Such a relationship would be a failure. The son belongs a generation which is ahead of his father's. 

3. The father failed in understanding his son and the generation gap. He destroyed the basic personality of his son and as a consequence, his son belongs to a different world now. He could have understood his son in a better way.
