i dont understand what is reported questions?

When we have to report what people say, we generally change the tense of the verbs to reflect that we are reporting something that was asked/said by someone else. This pattern is also followed when we report questions 

•  Direct question: “Do you like to study in a group?”
•  Reported question: He asked if I like to study in a group.
