Some paper sheets (each of thickness 0.015 mm) are piled together in a stack. The thickness of the stack is 2.4 × 10−4m.
How many paper sheets are there in the stack?

Thickness of each paper = 0.015 mm
Thickness of the stack = 2.4 × 10−4m
∴ Number of paper sheets in the stack
= 1.6 × 10−4 + 5
= 1.6 × 10
= 16
The correct answer is A.

If the area of a piece of paper is 6 square millimetres, then what is the area of the piece of paper in square metres?

6 × 10−3
B :
6 × 10−4
C :
6 × 10−6

6 × 10−8
Area of the piece of paper = 6 mm2
We know that,
1000 mm = 1 m
