I know that Pent-2-ene reacting with HBr yields two product
as 2-Bromopentane and 3-Bromopentane..
But which one is major product?
When pent-2-ene reacts with HBr ,equal amount of 2-bromo pentane and 3-bromopentane are formed because degree of alkyl substituition is same for both carbons in it.
Where as in another case of 1-pentene ,due to different degree of alkyl substituition 2-bromo-pentene is major product.
