so,

or

which is the charge on the drop.

thus,

F = mg = 3.2 X 10-13 N

so,

q = F/E = 3.2 X 10-13 / 5 X 105

or

q = (3.2/5) X 10-18

 

or the charge on the drop will be

 

q = 6.4 X 10 -19 C
