Identify and state the type of transformation of energy in the following cases:

1. When coal is burnt.

2. When a dry cell discharges.

3. In a thermal power plant.

1) When coal is burned then chemical energy is transformed into the thermal energy.

2) When cell discharges, the chemical energy is transformed into electrical energy which is further transformed into another form of energy (depending upon the application for the respective cell).

3) In thermal power plants, heat engines produces  mechanical power which is further transformed into thermal energy due to the combustion of a fuel and then into rotational energy.
