If a body has a velocity of 50m/s and the uniform accelaration is 5m/s², find the time it takes to travel a distance of 240m through an equation of motion.

Given,

u=50m/s

a=5m/s²

S=240m

v=?

t=?

By Applying the (iii) equation, we get

= v²-u²=2aS

=v²-50²=2*5*240

=v²=2400+2500

=v²=4900

=v=70

Now, by applying the equation (i), we get,

=v=u+at

=70=50+5t

=20=5t

=t=4 sec.
