If a single electric cell can be called a battery then what does batteries stand for and If many electric cell is called a battery what does batteries mean then?

​​​​​​A single electric cell is called cell and a group of cells is called battery and batteries means when many battery are connected in group it is called batteries dear it is plural of battery. As a battery consists of a number of cells then the batteries will contain more number of cells than a battery.
