Let’s find out which one would reach the ground first using the motion equations. Suppose ‘mP’ is the mass of the pencil, ‘mS’ is the mass of the stone. They start with a zero initial velocity, under the same acceleration ‘g’. ‘h’ be the height of the tower.

Let’s prove the same using conservation of energy,
Energy of the pencil at the top is = Energy of the pencil at the ground

Hence, we can conclude that, if we drop them simultaneously they will reach the ground simultaneously, provided the experiment is performed in vacuum.

both of them would reach at a same time because the acceleration doesnt depnd on the mass.
