'if all the japs were like u there would n't have been war'. justify the statement?

After the prisoner recovers he comments,"I guess if all the Japs were like you there wouldn't have been a war”. He says so because despite knowing the fact that the injured man was an American prisoner of war, Dr. Sadao did not forget about his responsibilities as a doctor first. He treated the prisoner and nursed him back to a healthy self even when he knew that he could be detained for doing so. His servants had left his side but he did not fear being detained because for him humanity and professional ethics were of much more value than his own self. The prisoner praises his efforts and says that if all the people could be like him, so human, there would be no war at all.
