If all waste we generate is biodegradable, what impact may this have on the environment?

IMPACT OF BIODEGRADABLE WASTE:

negative:

  • the decomposition process will become slow
  • the substances will pile up and give foul smell
  • be a breeding place for disease causing  organisms

positive:

  • polution created by the non-biodegradable substance will reduce
  • easy disposal of waste products ie, do not presist for long time like the non-biodegradable one
  • eco-friendly to the environment

1.THERE WILL BE NO POLLUTION

2.THE WASTES WOULD NOT GET ACCUMULATED AS THEY WOULD BE DECOMPOSED WITHIN SHORT DURATION OF TIME.

3.THE ENVIRONMENT WOULD BE CLEAN .

4.THIS WOULD ALSO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF DISEASES AS THE MOSQUITOES,FLIES AND OTHER INSECTS WOULD NOT BREED ON THE WASTE MATERIALS.

ALL THE BEST !!!!!!

If all the waste we generate is bio-degradable, it will have a diverse effect on the environment, as the ecological balance would be disturbed. The pressure on decomposers will increase leading to ecological imbalance.

If all the waste we generate is biodegradable, this would also have an impact on the environment but most of the impacts would be positive. After decomposition, the biodegradable substance produces different raw materials which are sent back to the ecosystem. The solid remains would add to the humus content of soil.

There can be some negative impacts; like obnoxious smell which is created during the process of decomposition. There can also be a possibility of sparking an epidemic if the waste is dumped near a residential area or is allowed to contaminate the water bodies. So, it is not the biodegradable waste which is going to create the problem, rather the way we dispose it.

yes, it will have an impact because I) it will be difficult for decomposers to act upon a large amount of waste. By this 2) the waste will keep on accumulating and will create foul smell and 3)some harmful germs may dwell causing deseases . Hope this helped 🙂

If the waste is biodegradable but in huge amount then it will have impact on the environment as due to very large waste which is biodegradable it will give rise to many organisms to dwell on this waste which may cause disease but if in low amount and isolated it can increase soil fertility too
