Let ∠ACB = 60° and ∠ADB = 30°Let BC = x m; CD = y mIn ∆ABC,tan 60° = ABBC⇒3 = 1200x⇒x = 12003 = 12003 × 33 = 4003 mIn ∆ABD,tan 30° = ABBD⇒13 = 1200x+y⇒y = 12003 - 4003 = 8003 so, distance between 2 ships = 8003 m
