if hypotenuse is a cm ,base is 6 cm and perpendicular is 8cm find the value of a in right angle triangle

Answer :

Given :  Hypotenuse =  a cm ,  Base ( Adjacent ) =  6 cm and Perpendicular ( Opposite ) = 8  cm

In right angle triangle we apply  Pythagoras theorem , As :

( Hypotenuse )2 = ( Opposite )2 + ( Adjacent )2

a 2 = 82 + 62

a 2 = 64 + 36

a 2 = 100

a 2 = 102

= 10 cm                                                                ( Ans )

no answer will come because hypotenuse should be bigger than any side

Let The Right angled triangle be ABC , right angled at B ,
Therefore AB = 8 cm , BC = 6 cm , AC = a cm
By pythagoras theorem ,
In triangle ABC ,
AB2  +  BC =  AC2
8+ 62 =  AC2
AC2  =  64 + 36
         =   100
AC  =   10 cm

h^2 = p^2 + b^2
a^2 = 8^2 + 6^2
= 64 + 36
= 100
a = √100 = √10×10= 10
