If in a triangle ABC,AD is the median then what can you say about the two triangles obtained?

Dear Student,

In a triangle ABC, if AD is the median, then the areas of the two triangles formed by the median will always be equal with each other.
If the median is also the perpendicular bisector then the triangle could be an isosceles triangle or it could be an equilateral triangle.
